 The
September 11 barbaric attacks on the USA resulted in unprecedented news
coverage. The TV coverage made it seem surreal, but the press photography
is absolutely astounding. It was and is very difficult to come to grip
with the situations in New York and Washington, and emotions run all over
the place.

On
September 15, we took a ride to Sandy Hook and the Atlantic Highlands.
No more World Trade Centers have changed
the skyline, to be sure.
 US
and UK forces began military operations in Afghanistan on October 7. Some
of the innocent will suffer. We found a USA Web site that shows Afghanistan
in a more peaceful light. Take
a look. It's nicely done.
On
Wednesday, October 10, the office building directly across the street
from us received an envelope with an unknown white powder within. This
area of the city was closed down from 11 AM to 2:30 PM. It scared everyone,
badly.

Friday, October 12, from 12:30 to 3 PM, US Army Fort Dix and Burlington
County police departments were involved in a vehicle chase that saw four
officers shot, and a military reservist killed. The area is just 8 miles
(12 km) north of our home.
